Puisi Sapardi Djoko Damono sesungguhnya adalah puisi yang wajar, namun dalam khazanah perpuisian kita, ia menjadi puisi yang harus. Nirwan Dewanto (Budayawan) ... kumpulan ini memperlihatkan keragaman agama dan kepercayaan, kristiani, muslim, maupun animisme. Kematian disambut dengan khidmat... dengan sikap hormat, kita menyisih, memberi jalan, dan berbicara pelan.
