Shalat adalah ibadah utama dalam Islam. Begitu berartinya shalat sehingga agama Islam tidak mungkin bisa tegak berdiri tanpa tegaknya shalat. Shalat juga merupakan ibadah yang pertama kali dihisab sekaligus menjadi perkara yang terakhir kali dicabut dari Islam. Perintah shalat adalah satu satunya ibadah yang diberikan Allah melalui pertemuan langsung antara Allah dengan Rasul-Nya.
