Setelah begitu lama menghilangkan diri, kepulangannya tidak dikenali lagi oleh penduduk kampungnya sendiri. Tambahan pula Pak Rahman sengaja merahsiakan identitinya kerana sebab-sebab tertentu. Tetapi sedikit demi sedikit akhirnya orang kampung tahu siapa orang tua yang mereka anggap pendatang asing itu. Selama berada di kampung itu, kesunyian menyelubungi hati Pak Rahman. Pun begitu, dia mengubatinya dengan mendekatkan hatinya kepada Tuhan. Kehadiran beberapa orang kampung yang tidak keberatan untuk berbual dengannya mengisi kekosongan hidupnya.
