In this work, Brian Philip Dunn focuses on the South Indian theologian A. J. Appaswamy's "embodiment theology." This is the first book on Appaswamy, a not insignificant Indian, Christian theologian. This study argues for the distinctive theological voice of Appaswamy who develops a theology strongly influenced by the medieval Hindu theologian (or "bhakti philosopher") Ramanuja, in particular offering a reading of the Gospel of John. Dunn shows how Appaswamy sees the Christian God in Ramanuja's theology and how his theology, particularly about the presence of God in the icon in a temple, can become a heuristic device through which to understand the fourth Gospel in the context of its own time. This allows the reader to develop a rooted Christology that otherwise would remain hidden. Through Ramanuja, Appaswamy can contribute to a constructive and important Theology that grounds the text and ideas of the incarnation in the Jewish context, particularly about priestly atonement. This reading of Ramanuja allows us to see a Christology in the Christian text that would otherwise not have been seen.

Discovering and Accepting Who You Are from the Words of the Buddha
Gautama Buddha was the founder of what we know as Buddhism, a spiritual tradition that is recognized throughout the world as one of compassion, peace, and understanding. Like his final words, Gautama Buddhas teachings were often simple phrases that carried profound thoughts and implications. When the words of the Buddha were gathered together, a special collection was madeThe Dhammapada or The Way of Truth. Be A Light Unto Yourself relates the story of Gautama Buddha and the spiritual revolution he began. It is a collection of teachings that relate strongest to the power and depth of the statement Be a light unto yourself. This book teaches you to know yourself and to always look within yourself for guidance and to trust your own senses. Among the teachings youll find: Your life is determined by the nature of mind. . . . A silent mind creates a peaceful life. Happiness will follow this mind like an ever-present shadow. Not in the sky, not in the deepness of the sea, not in the rocky clefts of the mountains is there a spot in the world where you can hide from yourself. If you can govern your anger like a charioteer his chariot, you are a real driver; otherwise you simply hold the reins.

Tony Estrada was a civilian who somehow managed to avoid the bloody gang culture of his neighborhood.Never arrested, so at eighteen he enlisted in the Army on a three-year stint. Honorably discharged, he came home. He had only been there a month before the night of his arrest, the night that changed his life forever.A veteran turned prisoner-serving life; Estrada was framed for murder and plunged into the dark world of the Mexican Mafia, serving time in the meanest prison in California. With no one to trust and nowhere to turn, Tony was sustained by his faith and a deep, abiding sense of his own innocence. Desperate, Estrada caught the attention of a renegade legal team just daring enough to risk their own lives and their careers in a fight for justice against a system stacked against them. This is a story of honor defeating corruption, of redemption conquering despair, and truth overwhelming deceit.
