Buku ini mengajak para pembaca untuk menjelajahi tahapan-tahapan ibadah salat, hingga menemukan jawaban dan pemahaman (dan seterusnya sehingga menjadi orang yang paham) atas pertanyaan-pertanyaan yang ada di seputar ibadah salat. Orang yang paham tersebut dalam istilah- disebut fâqih (orang yang paham terhadap agamanya). Ketika kita berbicara mengenai fi kih, maka ada penggolongan terhadap kaum muslim, yaitu mujtahid (para pakar dalam ijtihad/menggali hukum-hukum agama dari sumber hukum utama, yaitu Al-Qur’an dan hadis), muttabi’ (orang yang ber-ittiba’ atau orang muslim yang menjalankan ajaran-ajaran, tata-cara ibadah dengan tahu dan mengetahui dasar/dalil-dalil yang terkait dengan pelaksanaan ibadahnya itu) dan golongan yang terakhir, yaitu orang yang hanya ikut-ikutan saja atau bertaklid atau disebut juga muqallid.
