Isozyme Polymorphism in Two Callosciurus Species and One Tupaia Species from Hutan Simpan UKM
Cellulose acetate gel electrophoresis (CAGE) was used to study isozymes of malata dehydrogenase (MDH), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and malic enzyme (ME) in the serum of two Callosciurus species, i.e., Callosciurus notatus and callosciurus nigrovittatus and a Tupaia species, i.e., Tupaia glis. Two loci (MDH-1 and MDH-2) were observed in both Callosciurus species and Tupaia glis. Only two loci of LDH (LDH-1 and LDH-2) were obtained from the serum of Tupaia glis whilst three (LDH-1, LDH-2 and LDH-3) were detected from both Callosciurus species.
