Melihat teori dan praktek hukum, baik secara universal, apalagi yang terjadi di Indonesia ini mutunya rendah dan ditenggarai rendahnya sudah sampai ke titik nadir, maka penulis mencoba menganalisis hukum tersebut secara filsafat-yuridis dengan pendekatan alternatif yang kritis. Khususnya dengan mengambil sebagai studi tentang hukum di Indonesia dalam perkembangan teori dan praktek. Dengan pendekatan multidimensi yang kritis seperti itu, diangkatlah topik-topik seperti critical legal studies, modernisasi hukum, penegakan hukum, pendidikan hukum, dan lain-lain. Karena itu, buku ini diharapkan akan sangat berguna untuk menambah cakrawala filsafat dan mengasah ketajaman berpikir dari para mahasiswa dan ahli hukum kita. Dengan begitu, mereka dapat berpikir kritis dalam suatu teritori yang luas bahkan bila perlu tanpa batas, agar dapat meneropong teori dan praktek hukum saat ini yang penuh dengan kebusukan, kepura-puraan, kanaifan dan tentu saja juga banyak bopeng-bopengnya. Penulis tidak mungkin dan tidak akan pernah menggantungkan harapan apa pun kepada pembaca yang membaca buku ini kecuali hanya sekadar sebuah wacana yang dapat membangkitkan kesadaran bahwa betapa banyak yang telah usang dan renta dalam teori dan praktek hukum sekarang ini, yang segera mesti diubah. Karena itu, mari kita bangkit, bangkit dan bangkit lagi dari keterpurukan teori dan praktek hukum kita.
