Teori fundamental ekonomi

Teori ekonomi klasik lahir sebagai tonggak pertama dalam sejarah pemikiran ilmu ekonomi sebagai suatu dispilin ilmu. Setelah itu, lahirlah teori neoklasik untuk menjawab hal-hal yang tidak bisa dijawab oleh teori ekonomi klasik. Lahir lagi teori ekonomi keynesian karena ketidakmampuan teori ekonomi klasik dan neoklasik mengatasi masalah ekonomi global pada saat itu yang dikenal dengan istilah “Great Depression”. Perkembangan terakhir, muncul lagi aliran ekonomi baru yang dikenal dengan teori ekonomi berbasis perilaku (economic behaviuor). Teori-teori ekonomi tersebut muncul dan lahir sebagai akibat kelemahan dan kekurangan dari teori ekonomi sebelumnya yang mengesankan bahwa ilmu ekonomi itu layaknya seperti sebuah fragmen-fragmen yang terpisah satu sama lain. Buku ini lahir untuk mencoba menyatukan seluruh fragmen-fragmen tersebut menjadi satu kesatuan utuh yang menghasilkan gambaran ilmu ekonomi yang lengkap dan menyeluruh. Buku ini mencoba merangkum kesamaan—bukan perbedaan—dari teori-teori tersebut ke dalam suatu teori-teori dasar atau fundamental. Itulah sebabnya buku ini mengusung judul sebagai teori baru dasar-dasar ilmu ekonomi atau teori baru fundamental ekonomi.

Pada perkembangan selanjutnya, teori ekonomi keynes ini berkembang menjadi
ilmu ekonomi makro sedangkan teori ekonomi klasik dan neoklasik berkembang
menjadi ilmu ekonomi mikro. Bagaimana dengan segitiga ekonomi kita?
