PEMIKIRAN USUL FIKIH AL-GAZZĀLĪ (450-505 / 1058-1111)

Al-Gazzālī adalah tokoh besar pemikiran Islam yang dikenal menguasai berbagai bidang keilmuan. Beliau dikenal sebagai seorang teolog, filosof, dan bahkan sufi. Tentang aspek-aspek pemikiran tersebut banyak tokoh yang mengkajinya. Bahkan kajian tersebut telah menjadi perbincangan hangat dan menjadi banyak rujukan bagi kalangan umat Islam di seluruh dunia. Selain dikenal sebagai tokoh yang menguasai berbagai bidang di atas, al-Gazzālī ternyata juga ahli di bidang hukum. Namun demikian, karena terlalu banyaknya kajian pemikiran al-Gazzālī di luar bidang hukum, hampir-hampir saja posisinya sebagai ahli hukum luput dari perhatian. Seperti yang telah diungkap oleh penulis buku ini, hampir tidak terhitung tokoh yang menulis tentang al-Gazzālī khususnya dalam bidang selain hukum di atas. Bahkan perhatiannya pada bidang hukum terus berlangsung sampai akhir hayatnya ditunjukkan dengan karya terakhirnya adalah al-Mustaṣfā min ‘Ilm al-Uṣūl yang selesai ditulisnya kurang lebih dua tahun sebelum meninggalnya.
