Kitab Bulughul Maram memuat hampir 1600 buah hadits. Di setiap akhir hadits yang dimuat dalam Bulughul Maram, Ibnu Hajar menyebutkan siapa perawi hadits asalnya. Bulughul Maram memasukkah hadits-hadits yang berasal dari sumber-sumber utama seperti sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Sunan Abu Dawud, Sunan at-Tarmidzi, Sunan an-Nasa'i, Sunan Ibnu Majah, dan Musnad Ahmad dan selainnya. Kitab Bulughul Maram memiliki keutamaan yang istimewa karena seluruh hadits yang termuat di dalamnya kemudian menjadi pondasi landasan fikih dalam mazhab Syafi'i.
